Your Session:
DB Therapeutic & Advanced Bodywork is a mobile therapy service. DBT brings the table and equipment to set up at your home, community center or office. A space of at least 8x10 feet is best for table set up.
Each client is responsible for providing his or her own linen: Pillow case, flat and fitted single sheet set, any additional blankets you feel you might need and a pillow for positioning if needed.
Most sessions can be performed with the client wearing yoga pants or exercise shorts and sports top. If disrobing is required your therapist will use proper draping techniques.
Therapist equipment: Massage table, wedges, bolsters, cups, orthotic samples and the like.
Before the Therapist arrives there will be some forms for you online to print and have complete. Your therapist may bring additional forms to be completed before the treatment session, as these forms will require a more interactive process in order to complete.
During your Initial session you will be ask questions about yourself and what you would like to accomplish/your goals. Your Therapist will listen and work closely to your concerns, comments and questions. There will also be questions ask about relevant medications, past and present injuries, surgeries; current conditions being treated by physician and or Allied Health professionals like Physical Therapist and other Allied healthcare professionals. Each following session your therapist will complete a simple review of your current condition and expectations moving forward with your goals.
Your session begins with simple "Listening" techniques using hands while standing and sitting; orthopedic/muscular and other types of test and assessments will also be performed. These will help your therapist assess lines of tension in the body that may be associated with trauma, abnormal movement patterns, posture, range of motion and sometimes strength. Assessment is done during the bodywork and your therapist will discuss the assessment findings as the session progresses. During the first part of a standard session expect to be moving from lying to sitting to standing. Adults with disabilities and clients with mobility limitations will not have same expectations as all sessions are designed with functional mobility in mind.
DBT does not charge a different prices for types of Modalities /Techniques (Types of Modalities) click on Type of Modalities. Instead, many techniques are used and blended during the session, these include, unless contraindicated: Visceral Manipulation, Neuro Motor Re-set/Re-training and always Biodynamic Craniosacral. Other Advanced Bodywork modalities include: Stretch, Range of Motion, Deep Pressure, Cupping and Cold Stones, to name a few.
The session ends with your Therapist giving your body time process the session, usually between 5-10 of quiet. The outtake process includes your Therapist reviewing the overall session, answering all you questions and may including some home stretching exercises (if appropriate), followed by payment and scheduling your next session.
